Once again I recieve an F for effort. Keeping this updated is harder than I thought. Especially since I still don't have internet. Honestly, I don't even think anyone reads it but....c'est la vie. It keeps me semi sane. So whats been going on? Not much. Still acclimating to my new life and enjoying every second of it. Ankle update? Still a little bruised but much much better. I only have one more physical therapy session left.
I had a day off today so I went to APU's Common Day of Learning. It's a day when all classes are canceled and there are discussion panels and lectures that you can attend about topics of interest. I attended a rather controversial session entitled God's intention for Human Sexuality. It was really interesting to say the least. There were four people in the panel. A woman minister from All Saints Church in Pasadena (A rather liberal Episcopol Church), an ex-gay Christian from Exodus Ministries, a theology professor at APU, and a gay guy from an organization called Soul something named Jacob. I guess the "Soul Something" organization targets institutions where gays are supposedly not allowed to attend (like some christian collages. Though APU does allow open homosexuals to attend). They go to these institutions and end up pretty much bashing them and saying how they are wrong. Apparently cops have been called numerous times. I was very impressed by APU because they invited him here. It makes me happy because APU is an institution that is willing to discuss such taboo topics as homosexuality as it relates to God's intention. The lecture started out with a guy talking about the importance of discourse in the search for truth. Props to APU for fostering that search for truth.
Good Job APU
