Initiation can be brutal

I finally found out what it really means to be a houseparent in Cottage 6.....It's quite simple really. All you have to do is play basketball and then roll your angle so it swells up to the size of a grapefruit rendering you incapable of walking! Aparently there is a bit of a cottage 6 houseparent curse, because every house parent that has worked in 6 has hurt their ankle. The weird thing is that they have all been with in 1 year and a day. I'm pretty sure that qualifies as a ligitimate curse...right? I'll try to get a pic of my ankle so you can all throw up on your monitors. Sorry, that probably wasn't necessary.

Well, ankle aside, life is going pretty great. I still experience some heart tugs about going back to Africa or working with the peace corps, but I am really happy where I am currently. Plus, I know I will get to do those things, they are just getting delayed for a bit.

Mackenzie and I started doing a bible read through. Our goal is to have the whole bible read by Thanksgiving. It's a moderate pace of about 5 chapters a day. I'm enjoying it so far. We plan on talking (over the phone) at least once a week to go over what we read and to pray together. I'm really looking forward to those meetings.

And for some more good news.....Hillview is really starting to feel like home. I love it. I'm still working on getting internet in my room though so I can be a little more regular with these posts. Miss you all.
